About the event

Palliative care gets involved with some of the most complex cases that a hospital faces. Conflicts occur at many levels, and often the palliative care team are thrown right in the middle. In this session, presenters will discuss a 72-year-old female with Stage IIIb adenocarcinoma of the lung who was admitted to the hospital ICU with confusion and hypoxia. This case deals with complex family dynamics and challenges working with other specialties to determine appropriate care versus medically ineffective treatment. Presenters will share how palliative care clinicians can step carefully through these conflicts, devise ways to resolve them, and avoid becoming part of the problem.

The Master Clinician Series is a discussion group that includes: detailed case study every month, live Q&A with Subject Matter Experts (come with your clinical questions!) & open discussion between participants
