Innovative Initiatives in Pediatric Community-Based Palliative Care
Tuesday, October 314 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. ET
Community-based pediatric palliative care is delivered in settings including the home, clinic, rehabilitative facilities—and other community settings where infants, children, and adolescents live and play. Similar to adult programs, challenges in pediatric programs include workforce shortages, team member well-being, lack of resources (financial, personnel, and clinical), and sustainability. As health care and palliative care transition to a new era, pediatric palliative care programs are working on both innovation and sustainability.
Creative innovation within the individual assets of a program has resulted in quality, patient-focused, delivery across the continuum. This webinar, facilitated by Constance Dahlin, MSN, ANP-BC, ACHPN, showcases innovation in programs. Moderated discussions with three programs offer ideas for comprehensive, interprofessional, and sustainable care for infants, children, and adolescents with serious illness, and their family caregiver units.
