Palliative care program leaders often have “too much data” and “not the right data”. Measurement and data use are most productive when tightly connected to practical problems, questions, and opportunities. To be effective, leaders need to demonstrate stewardship of current resources, identify high-impact options for future work, and track performance. Each domain is important, but they require different approaches and data plans.

In this webinar, speakers Lynn Hill Spragens, MBA, and Santiago Lopez, MD, will introduce simple classifications of data types, sources, and uses that may help program leaders more effectively identify needs, collaborate, and obtain data. They will provide examples of national metrics and share how they might be used to anchor local plans; link suggestions and examples of team management metrics with effective resource planning for future budgets; and provide easily replicated and specific examples of clinical problem-solving.
