How do you create a palliative care culture at an organization when there isn’t one? How do you take the idea of palliative care and turn that into a thriving program? In this Program Spotlight, Dr. Alexander Gamble, Medical Director of Supportive Care Services at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri, reveals his experience with building a palliative care team from the ground up at a growing community hospital. He shares his approach to building strong relationships with referring clinicians, developing benchmarks for measurement, and the challenges and opportunities that come with transitioning to a rural setting.
