Medicaid and the Veterans Administration (VA) cover many patients in need of geriatric and palliative care, and these programs are major payers for long-term services and supports. After completing this course, learners will understand eligibility for these benefits and reflect on how these programs support some of our most vulnerable patients and families.

  2. Explain variances across states in Medicaid coverage, benefits, and use of managed care
  3. Identify Medicaid and VA services available to patients who are frail or have a serious illness

  5. Identify population health considerations for geriatric and palliative care leaders working with Medicaid and VA populations
