Palliative Care teams experienced workforce challenges even prior to COVID-19. A lack of board-certified specialists and limited resources to expand teams creates an urgency for programs to recruit the right people and, perhaps more importantly, retain the talent they already have. We all know this isn’t easy, and that these issues have real consequences on team health and wellbeing. This session will explore the relationship between recruitment and retention and present data that suggests that recruitment and retention strategies are not “one size fits all” among disciplines. Learners will leave the presentation with practical strategies to help address this important issue.
