Palliative Care Displays Low Utilization in Metastatic Breast Cancer
An article published in Cure summarizes the results of a recent study presented at the 2023 ASCO Quality Care Symposium. The study sought to evaluate the low rate and disparities (sex, race, ethnicity) in palliative care utilization for people living with cancer. The authors found low utilization of palliative care for patients with de novo metastatic breast cancer (dnMBC), as well as disparities in treatment for racial/ethnic patient populations.
