J. Brian Cassel, PhD

J. Brian Cassel is palliative care research director and an associate professor of hematology/oncology and palliative care at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and faculty at the Palliative Care Leadership CenterTM (PCLC) at VCU Massey Cancer Center. He specializes in the financial aspects of palliative care, and has published extensively on the outcomes of palliative care delivery. His degrees, both in psychology, are from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania and the City University of New York. In 2011-12 he was a Fulbright scholar at King’s College London, where he did palliative care research at the Cicely Saunders Institute.
