General

As a Trainer, you can create Learning Pathways (recommended groups of CAPC Continuing Education courses and tools) and assign them to staff at your organization. You can use these to onboard new staff; standardize practice across your team and organization; fulfill competency requirements; and more. Training Assignments can include a mix of CAPC courses from different clinical training units (Pain Management, Symptom Management, Communication Skills, etc.) and/or include technical assistance from one of our toolkits.

You can also create Learning Pathways for your organization simply as resource; you do not have to assign every Learning Pathway. Learning Pathways that you create but do not assign will show up on a learner's Training Assignments dashboard under "Suggested Pathways".

Anyone who is designated as a Trainer can create Learning Pathways and assign them to staff at your organization. CAPC Training Leads, CAPC Champions, and CAPC Membership Administrators have automatically been made Trainers at your organization. If you would like to make another person at your organization a CAPC Training Lead, email [email protected].

There are two ways to create a Learning Pathway. You can create your own from scratch, or if you aren't sure where to start, you can browse and copy one of CAPC’s existing Learning Pathways. If you copy an existing Learning Pathway, you can still edit the title, description, and resources within it.

Once published, Learning Pathways are not private. Anyone at your organization can view them. No one outside of your organization will be able to see your published Learning Pathways.

See the Assignments FAQs below to read more.

The Learning Pathways/Training Assignments will remain visible to the organization(s), but if the Trainer that created them leaves the organization, they will lose ownership.

To transfer ownership to someone else at your organization, contact [email protected].

Assignments

You can assign a Learning Pathway to anyone at your organization that has a CAPC User Account. You can filter staff by discipline, practice area, or training status. You can also assign a Learning Pathway to an individual by searching for their name or email address.

Trainers with multiple organizations under their CAPC membership can also filter by organization.

Yes, Trainers can assign any Learning Pathway created by any Trainer at your organization.

If you don’t see someone you’d like to assign in your staff list, you can invite them to create a free CAPC User Account.

If you try to invite someone to create a User Account and receive an error message that says "The following people cannot be invited because they have inactive accounts." it means the person you are trying to invite has already started to set up their capc.org User Account, but hasn't finished. They should search their inbox for an email from [email protected] with instructions on how to verify their User Account (the email may be in a spam/junk folder). If they need help or cannot find that email, encourage them to contact us at [email protected] for assistance.

If you try to invite someone to create a User Account, but they already have one that is associated with another organization, you should contact the person and ask them to email [email protected] to update their organization.

If you don’t see certain disciplines, practice areas, and training levels in the list of filters, it means no one at your organization has self-identified as those.
