Exciting opportunity for a full time Chaplain with the University Health System Palliative Care team. Our team provides full scale Palliative Care services to patients and families in an inpatient setting. Our program emphasizes patient and family-centered care by collaborating with primary care teams to assist with goal setting, spiritual care and symptom management. This position comes with opportunities for continuing education, additional program development, working with team-based faculty and collaboration with Palliative Care physician fellows. Team members include physicians, dedicated advanced practice nurses, nurses, social workers, chaplains, child-life specialists and case-managers.

A Bachelor’s degree in nursing, psychology, counseling, social work or related field is required. Two years of clinical experience gained as a registered nurse, clinical psychologist, social worker in a hospital, long-term care or hospice setting, or a related field of practice is preferred. A Master’s degree in Divinity, Theology or Religion is preferred. Must have completed a one-year residency program with six months of pastoral ministry in a church, synagogue, or mosque is preferred. Endorsement by religious affiliation for chaplaincy is preferred. Three years of experience as Clinical Chaplain in hospital or hospice setting is preferred.
***Certification in Clinical Pastoral Education is required. Eligibility for certification as "Board Certified Chaplain by the Association of Professional Chaplains is preferred.
