Tulane University School of Medicine, Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, invites applications for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Palliative Care physician to join our rapidly expanding Palliative Medicine & Supportive Care Program.

This is a unique opportunity to deliver compassionate, team-based care while contributing to the academic mission of one of the nation’s most vibrant medical schools. Faculty rank and track will be commensurate with experience.

Position Highlights
• Provide inpatient consultations on a busy palliative medicine service and outpatient continuity care in a supportive, team-based environment.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes advanced practice providers, social workers, chaplains, pharmacists, and nurses.
• Teach and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students with protected time for education and scholarship.
• Contribute to quality improvement, program development, and research initiatives across Tulane Health System.
• Participate in institutional leadership activities such as Cancer Center expansion, Academic Excellence Councils, and wellness initiatives including the Death Café series.

Practice Details
• Schedule/Call: Shared call rotation with collegial coverage; designed to protect work-life balance
• Team Model: Fully staffed interdisciplinary team (APPs, chaplains, social workers, pharmacist, nurses)
• Protected time for teaching, scholarship, and academic activities
• Mentorship for early career physicians: Work alongside nationally recognized leaders in Hospice and Palliative Care.

Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
• MD/DO degree from an accredited program and eligible for medical license in the state of Louisiana, CDS, and DEA.
• Ability to work as part of a professional team and to collaborate effectively with individuals within the University as well as with outside contractors.
• Commitment to teaching, mentoring, and serving diverse patient populations.
