About Us:
Roswell Park Oishei Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Program is a collaboration between Kaleida Health’s Oishei Children’s Hospital and the NCI designated, free-standing Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Division is home to 13 physician faculty, 3 advanced practice providers and pediatric hematology/oncology trainees through the ACGME-accredited fellowship training program. The Program cares for >90% of all pediatric cancer and blood disorders patients in the in the eight county Western New York region and provides regional consultation for patients across New York State, Northern Pennsylvania, and Eastern Ohio, representing the largest pediatric cancer and blood disorders program in upstate New York. with a focus on a wide variety of malignant and nonmalignant hematologic disorders.

Job Description:
Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatric Palliative Care Physician to join our esteemed team. This role involves providing holistic and patient-centered care to children and adolescents with cancer, complex hematologic disorders such as sickle cell disease, and other life-limiting illnesses. The ideal candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients and their families receive comprehensive support throughout their healthcare journey.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality palliative care services to pediatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with pediatric hematologists, oncologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, psychologists, social workers, child life specialists, integrative medicine practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Manage complex pain and symptom issues, enhancing patients' quality of life.
• Conduct family meetings to discuss treatment options, goals of care, and advance care planning.
• Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff about palliative care principles and practices.
• Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives aimed at advancing palliative care.

Qualifications:
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics and Palliative Care Medicine.
• Valid medical license to practice in New York.
• Experience in pediatric palliative care, oncology, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to care.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
