Northwell Health’s Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine is seeking Palliative Medicine Physicians for Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, NY. These are exciting opportunities to join a nationally recognized division. The ideal candidate should be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Palliative Medicine, or both Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Medicine and have an interest in delivering hospital-based patient care within an academic institution. Our interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and social workers provide high quality clinical care to older adults and those with serious and advanced illness. Highlights include academic and research opportunities, exposure to a variety of patient demographics, and professional growth opportunities.
Long Island Jewish Medical Center is a 583-bed teaching hospital which is part of Northwell Health. There are more than 700 physicians on staff. LIJ is one of three components of Long Island Jewish Medical Center, which also includes the Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Zucker Hillside, an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Long Island Jewish Medical Center is located in New Hyde Park, New York which is 15 miles east of Manhattan on the border of Queens and Nassau Counties. New Hyde Park is conveniently located centrally between the north and south shores of Long Island, and offers access to some of the best school districts, shopping, restaurants and transportation. The area offers the option of either a city or suburban lifestyle.
