Description

The Senior Medical Director is responsible for directly providing palliative care consultations in all available settings which could include inpatient, outpatient, nursing homes, assisted living, and home visits. Overseeing the medical extenders and providing direction to chaplains and social workers. This position provides and assures expert palliative medical consultation and serves as a liaison between CPC and the physician community. Secondarily provides leadership of medical programs and services to the organization in support of goals and mission.

**Level II ACHA (Agency for Healthcare Administration) Background Screening

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would provide required skills and knowledge for successful performance.

One year experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team
Willing to lead and or participate in palliative education
Credentialed for full scope of practice at all hospitals where CPC practices
Controlled substance license with current DEA number
Eligible for or currently possess a Medicare/Medicaid NPI number
Excellent interpersonal and communications skill

Required Licenses/Certifications:
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy with two years’ experience beyond board certification
Current license to practice in the State of Florida
License must be in good standing with the Florida Board of Medicine
