Palliative Research Center
Pittsburgh, PA, United States

Drs. Yael Schenker and Bob Arnold just received funding for a 3-year pilot project to bring palliative care to rural oncology clinics in Western Pennsylvania through telehealth. We are looking to fill a full-time research project coordinator position starting July 1, 2020. Responsibilities and job duties include: preparing and updating study regulatory materials; coordinating meetings and communication with institutional and community stakeholders; building a quality improvement data management system; preparing metrics and reports; using program evaluation data to inform changes needed to implementation; maintaining and updating study operations procedures and training manuals; deploying telehealth technology; and monitoring project implementation and data collection at participating sites. This position will include travel to locations around Western Pennsylvania, when appropriate (considering current precautions). Ideal candidates will have a Master’s degree in a health-related field and 2-3 years of experience coordinating quality improvement projects, with the ability to exercise independent judgment to ensure the regulatory requirements are adhered to (note that an applicable Bachelor’s degree with additional experience may be substituted for the advanced degree). Strong writing and verbal communication skills, a knowledge of University of Pittsburgh and UPMC research/quality improvement policies and procedures, a strong interest in palliative care and telehealth, and knowledge and experience using RedCap or other similar database management software, are a plus.
