The Department of Pediatrics Patient Care at MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment to join the Pediatric Palliative and Supportive Care Team.

This clinical faculty position in the division of Pediatrics will:
• Spend his/her clinical activity Attending on the Palliative and Supportive Care Inpatient Service at the Children’s Cancer Hospital at MD Anderson as well as in the Palliative and Supportive Care Child and Adolescent outpatient clinic.

• Provide clinical expertise in pediatric pain & symptom management and palliative care.

• Provides an appropriate teaching environment for fellows, residents and students.

• Possess strong communication skills to communicate with patients, family members, hospital staff and other faculty members within the Institution.

• Be able to work within a context of very intense interpersonal relationships with other physicians, patients, and subordinates.

Qualification:
The candidate must have completed a medical degree (MD/DO) in an accredited medical school or equivalent. Candidates must have completed an accredited pediatrics residency program, and an accredited palliative medicine fellowship program. Completion of an accredited pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship is preferable, but not required and applicants with a strong background in oncology are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in general pediatrics and pediatric hospice and palliative medicine by the American Board of Pediatric and be licensed as a physician in the State of Texas or eligible to obtain a Texas medical license.
