Mercy Health Physicians –Youngstown is seeking a motivated and capable board eligible or board certified Palliative Medicine & Hospice physician. The full time position is immediately available and is well suited for an individual that is equally passionate about Palliative Medicine and who desires to be involved with our growing service. This position entails a clinical Palliative Medicine focus with a mixture of inpatient and outpatient coverage.

Mercy Health Palliative Medicine Program was established in 2010. Our Palliative Medicine is comprised of an Executive Director, Medical Director, 1 and ½ full time Physicians, 5 Advance Practice Practitioners, 1 Program Manager, 1 Registered Nurse, 1 Medical Assistant, and 2 Social Workers. We currently provide inpatient consultation to three Hospitals in the Mercy Youngstown system, operate two Outpatient Clinics, and provide Community Based Palliative Care Services in-home and at local facilities. The Palliative Medicine Program is well supported by the Mercy Medical Staff and neighboring communities.

Many of our current providers also are involved in caring for patients who elect their Medicare Hospice Benefit through our affiliation with Hospice of the Valley. Hospice of the Valley, a subsidiary of Mercy Health, has served the community since 1979 as the largest, non-profit hospice provider in the area. Hospice of the Valley maintains a census of 220-240 patients per day, including a 16 bed Inpatient facility. This continuum of care allows for a seamless transition for many of the patients we are blessed to provide care for during their time of need.
