Palliative Medical Director

August 9, 2019

Where

Crossroads Hospice
Akron, OH, United States

Description

Would it alarm you to find out that a large number of hospice organizations in the country are more focused on the bottom line and less on the human aspect? Their shortfalls and lack of understanding as to how and when to provide care are why no other organization can come close to the bar that Crossroads Hospice sets!

When Crossroads Hospice began its hospice program in 1995, it was founded with two guiding principles - nobody should die alone or in pain. Nearly 25 years later, while growing to be the 5th largest Hospice company in the country (seven states) these principles are still embedded core values of Crossroads’ employees. Knowing how to navigate the challenges when working with end-of-life care, Crossroads has designed a brand-new role for their Ohio patients, Palliative Director!

The Palliative Director will assume overall responsibility for the medical component of the palliative client care program and will lead interdisciplinary group sessions. He/she will provide support to the hospice program and will work collaboratively with the Hospice Medical Director. The team also includes Assistant Medical Directors, Advanced Practice Providers, and palliative and hospice trained support staff. This opportunity will be based in the Akron/Canton area and will cover 11 counties.

As one of the founders said “The reason Crossroads exists is to break the model of business that says you have to make money instead of taking care of people. Let's do the right thing for the right reasons for these patients.”

Our question to you - are you ready to join this steward journey dedicated to compassion?
