The CAPC palliative care online Discussion Forum lets members share information, exchange ideas and get advice from both colleagues and faculty.

How do CAPC members use the Forum?

You can post a question or respond to questions such as the following:

“I am looking for information on the typical funding sources (as percentage) for an inpatient palliative service at a tertiary care hospital. Currently, we are funded only through clinical revenue and a small subsidy, which is markedly limiting our ability to expand.”

“Does anyone use a tool to document follow-up needs for patients discussed at team meetings? Needs identified, who will be responsible for follow-up?”

“How often are the different members of the team expected to round on patients? I am getting different recommendations from different sources.”

“We are starting a new home-based palliative care program for people in a large medicare shared savings ACO. What staffing ratios have others found to be appropriate? How many RN, NP, SW and MDs per member? How many visits on average per month?”
