Touch Stone for Life: Using Alternative Therapies to Improve Quality of Life
Overview
The hallmark of palliative care is relief of suffering making use of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. This Master Clinician session will present a case study focusing on how a physician and social worker decreased a patient’s suffering from anxiety and improved her quality of life using guided imagery and a touch stone. These interventions helped her enjoy a return to activities that she had abandoned due to previously uncontrolled anxiety.
