JPSM study finds important differences between adult and pediatric clinician beliefs and behaviors when referring patients to palliative care.

Knowing that children and adults with advanced cardiac and respiratory disease may benefit from palliative care, a Journal of Palliative Pain and Symptom Management (JPSM) study explored the beliefs and referral practices of pediatric and adult cardiologists and respirologists. Through a survey, the authors found differences between both groups, such as pediatric clinicians referring more often and earlier than their colleagues.
