Patterns of Material Hardship and Food Insecurity Among Older Adults During the Pandemic
A new study in the Journal of General Internal Medicine finds that 1 in 3 older adults reported material hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with racial and socioeconomic disparities and heightened vulnerabilities for those with functional or cognitive impairments, such as dementia. The study suggests the urgent need for targeted support for this population.
