Study seeks to find what palliative care support is provided to chronically critically ill infants and families after NICU discharge.

A study published in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management (JPSM), sought to understand care intensity and palliative care received for chronically critically ill infants (CCI), cared for in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). The authors found that while nonpalliative care specialists provide this interdisciplinary care to the infants and families in the NICU, access is limited afterward.
