Number of Medical Advantage Plans Offering Palliative Care Doubles
A recent Hospice News article reports that the number of Medicare Advantage (MA) health plans offering palliative care as a supplemental benefit more than doubled between 2020 and 2021 (from 61 to 134 plans). As the author points out, this allows for MA plans to offer an increasing number primarily health-related supplemental benefits, which can help fill critical needs for patients living with serious illness.
