New federal regulations will require home health agencies to be more responsive to patients and caregivers. The first major change of rules governing these organizations in nearly three decades, the regulations specify the conditions under which 12,600 home health agencies can participate in Medicare and Medicaid, serving more than 5 million seniors and younger adults with disabilities and serious illnesses through these government programs.

Effective in July unless delayed by the new presidential administration, the changes will bolster patients’ rights and ensure that they receive clear and timely information. Their caregivers will also be supported so they can be more actively engaged. Click here to read more.
