A study presented at ASCO examines the use of and factors associated with receiving palliative care in Native American patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

A retroactive study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology examined the factors influencing whether Native American people living with Hepatocellular Carcinoma received palliative care. The researchers found this population is more likely to receive palliative care if their disease is advanced and has metastasized to other organs, compared to those in earlier stages of the disease.
