Early Integration of Palliative Care for Patients with Hematological Malignancies
In a review published in the British Journal of Haematology, authors Adir Shaulov, MD, et al. discuss the multiple barriers to early palliative care integration that exist for patients with hematologic malignancies (HMs), who have comparable symptoms to patients with solid tumors. The authors present evidence from clinical trials of early palliative care in HMs and propose models which support early integration.
