Digital Therapeutic App (ePAL) Helped Manage Pain in Advanced Cancer Patients
A randomized controlled trial evaluated the effectiveness of the ePAL digital therapeutic app in managing pain for patients with advanced cancer receiving care in a specialty palliative care clinic at a tertiary care hospital. The study found that patients using ePAL reported lower pain scores compared to those receiving usual care. Additionally, ePAL users had fewer pain-related hospitalizations.
Authors concluded the study demonstrates the potential of digital therapeutics for improving patients' symptoms and reducing hospitalizations.
