Low recruitment rates in palliative care clinical trials amongst Black and rural individuals have been attributed to a lack of trust and procedural barriers. A study in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management found that community engagement strategies such as the use of Community Tele-Pal, a 3-site, culturally based palliative care tele-consult, increased clinical trial participation of under-represented populations.
