All clinicians caring for pediatric patients with serious illness have the responsibility to improve outcomes, but many have not received the training.

This week, CAPC released its new Pediatric Clinical Training Recommendations and accompanying Learning Pathways, developed in partnership with the Pediatric Palliative Care Task Force. The recommendations highlight the skills necessary to effectively care for these patients and offer resources to fill training gaps.

Adapted from the National Consensus Project’s Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care, these new recommendations include foundational and advanced skills for:
