Advance Care Planning Experiences Among Sexual and Gender Minority People
A study published in JAMA Network Open found that a fear of disclosing sexual orientation or gender identity information and discrimination are important barriers to advance care planning (ACP) discussions for sexual and gender minority (SGM) people and medical decision-makers. The authors offer suggestions for SGM patient-centered care to support this population, as well as ways in which health care systems can improve engagement.
