A Case Report of Treatment-Resistant Agitation in Dementia with Lewy Bodies
In a case discussion published in the Journal of Palliative Medicine, the authors present the case of an 85-year-old with dementia with Lewy bodies. After administering multiple regiments of antipsychotics (in both inpatient and outpatient settings), without improvement, and exhausting other options, the palliative care team prescribed Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which helped the patient's behavior rapidly improve.
