Specialists and Non-Specialists

Both specialists and non-specialist clinicians can access CAPC tools, training and technical assistance through our courses, or through a variety of webinars, virtual office hours and topic-specific forums that allow you to network with other palliative care professionals. Designation in Pain Management, Symptom Management and Communication is available for all frontline clinicians.

CAPC Courses

The CAPC online curriculum is designed to provide an integrated approach to palliative care skills for all frontline clinicians, both primary clinicians and specialists. Course pathways to quality palliative care include Pain Management, Symptom Management, Communication, Palliative Care in the Community, Operations and much more. CAPC Designation is available in Pain Management, Communication, and Symptom Management. Free CME/CEUs. (Members Only)

CAPC Designation

CAPC provides Designation status to standardize training for all frontline clinicians. To receive CAPC Designation in Pain Management, Symptom Management and/or Communication, you must complete all courses in those units. (Members Only)

Virtual Office Hours

Attend Virtual Office Hours for “just in time,” small-group access to leading subject-matter experts, whether you are trying to improve team billing practices or implementing palliative care in your ICU. Experts from a variety of settings will work with you on your top challenges and concerns. (Members Only)


Listen and participate in CAPC Webinars as experts from a wide variety of settings cover the most important palliative care topics of the day. These regularly scheduled conference calls provide a high-quality method for gaining answers to complex questions. Constructed in a series format in order to provide breadth and depth of content, our 2015 topics will range from clinical training and leadership support to palliative care in the community. Members may submit questions ahead of time. (Members Only)

National Palliative Care Registry™

The Registry is the nation’s only repository of data on palliative care team characteristics and best practices. By participating in the Registry, you will get aggregate national reports summarizing the state of palliative care at both your institution and the nation. You do not have to be a member. (FREE and Open to All)

NOW Online Discussion Forum

The CAPCconnect™ palliative care discussion forum is your free convening resource as a CAPC member organization − health care professionals who want to share information, exchange ideas, and get advice from their colleagues on clinical and operational issues affecting their palliative care programs. Palliative Care Leadership Centers™ (PCLC)

PCLC provides customized, operational training and yearlong mentoring for both start-up and established palliative care programs.  (Open to all until January 2017)

CAPC National Seminar

The CAPC National Seminar is designed with in-depth content and rich networking opportunities. (Open to All)
