Project Tipping Point and the Tipping Point Challenge
The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) is celebrating its 20th anniversary year with a campaign and a challenge aimed at reaching a tipping point in improving the quality of care delivered to the millions of Americans living with a serious illness.
Despite the rapid growth of palliative care, most people who need palliative care don’t get it. To help close this gap, CAPC has launched a five-year national effort—Project Tipping Point—to expand patient access to the principles and practices of palliative care by 2024.
The campaign will focus on 1) increasing access to quality palliative care services across the full continuum of care ─ in the hospital, at home, in office practices, and in long term care settings; and 2) enhancing knowledge and skill among all specialties and disciplines treating people living with a serious illness.
To kick off the campaign, CAPC is issuing its first Tipping Point Challenge (January 10 - December 31, 2019) to catalyze the spread of skills and knowledge. All CAPC member organizations are automatic participants and will be judged on the number of course completions and designations.
