Jen Ritzau is currently the VP of the Medical Staff at HopeHealth, a large not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization serving patients in Rhode Island and southern Massachusetts. where she has worked for eighteen years. She has a passion for medical leadership and for empowering all clinicians with palliative care skills to better serve patients with serious illness.
She attended medical school at Medical College of Virginia and completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. She completed a fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Connecticut Health Science Center. After several years practicing Geriatrics, she pursued Board Certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and focused her career solely on hospice and palliative care which has always been her passion. She is proud to have worked for HopeHealth in various roles for the last twenty years.
When not practicing or promoting palliative care, she pampers cats and gardens in an old farmhouse in Connecticut where she’s raised three children with her husband.
