Claire Slusarz, CPNP-PC/AC
Claire developed her passion for pediatric palliative care while working as a pediatric hematology/oncology nurse. She received her BSN and MSN from Case Western Reserve University and went on to complete an APP fellowship a Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Since 2021, she has been working as pediatric palliative care nurse practitioner first in New York City and now in in her hometown of Cleveland, OH. Through her work with linguistically diverse patient populations, she witnessed the unique challenges and healthcare disparities patients with non-English language preference (NELP) and their families face. She is currently a student at University of Maryland, Baltimore working towards a PhD in palliative care with her research focusing on how to effectively partner with medical interpreters to address these challenges and to strive for more equitable care for patients and families with NELP.
