Course 1 of 6
Develop systems-thinking skills to assess situations, engage key stakeholders, and strategically prioritize resources for effective leadership.
Leading a palliative care or geriatrics program requires a business and strategic mindset, resource management skills, and the ability to navigate unplanned changes. Through the concept of “systems thinking”, the courses in this unit teach new and emerging leaders how to build strategic relationships with key decision-makers, use pilot projects to gather data and make a case for additional resources, and align business planning with organizational priorities.
Learners will explore strategies for adapting to unexpected challenges like turnover or financial expectations, and how to engage teams in prioritization and change management. With an emphasis on strong financial management, tracking key metrics, and demonstrating resource stewardship, this unit offers strategies to leverage others’ expertise, build leadership teams, and collaborate with administrative or financial partners to drive program success.
CAPC members can earn a Verification of Attendance certificate after completing the courses in this series.
