Description
Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County is recruiting for a full time Physician to provide care to patients with advanced life-limiting illnesses in Iredell County and surrounding areas. Candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be well organized, self directed and comfortable with providing end-of-life care in a variety of settings. Time will be split between our inpatient units and homecare teams. Responsibilities include determination of hospice eligibility, pain and symptom management in end of life care, education and counseling for patients and families regarding disease progression and prognosis, completion of Advanced Care Directives, serving as an educational resource both within the organization and outside community and providing on call availability as per employment agreement.
Required Education and Experience: A Doctoral Degree in medicine (M.D. or D.O.) and current active NC Board of Medicine practicing physician license. A minimum of 2 years experience in the care of terminally ill patients, geriatric care or Hospice & Palliative Care Medicine is strongly preferred. Board certification in a medical specialty required with a strong preference for board certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine. Computer proficiency is required.
