Overview

Hispanic/Latino people living with dementia and their caregivers often face barriers to accessing palliative care, including language differences, limited awareness of palliative care services, and cultural differences in how care is discussed and delivered. The Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias–Palliative Care (ADRD-PC) program provides dementia-focused palliative care, caregiver support, and care coordination, with adaptations guided by Hispanic/Latino caregivers. These include culturally tailored materials, bilingual and bicultural staff, and communication approaches that emphasize family involvement and culturally relevant decision-making.
