The palliative registered nurse (RN) is an essential member of the team, providing comprehensive care for all populations and settings. Their scope of practice is wide and consistent from state to state and includes, but is not limited to, eliciting goals of care, providing counseling and patient education, performing assessments and health histories, and administering treatments and medications. This provides numerous opportunities for RNs on the team, including direct care provider, care navigator/coordinator, clinic nurse, or supervisor.

In this webinar, Connie Dahlin, MSN, ANP-BC, ACHPN, FPCN, FAAN, will moderate a panel discussion between three palliative care RNs, who work in various settings. Together, they will explore and discuss opportunities and challenges in maximizing the role of the RN on the palliative care team. The panel is comprised of nurses caring for adults and children in the home, the clinic, and the acute care setting.
