Overview

With the state of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s predictable that palliative care teams will continue to experience the emotional impact of COVID-related loss and grief for quite some time. How can health care professionals recognize the many faces of loss brought about by COVID and identify reactions to the ongoing stress and uncertainty?

In this recorded master clinician session, Raymond F. Hanbury, PhD, ABPP, a trauma psychology specialist, will present a framework for understanding loss and grief. After outlining natural responses to loss, Dr. Hanbury will listen to stories from two CAPC members who are experiencing the emotional toll of COVID. He will offer guidance for a healthy response to these feelings, and then address questions from the audience. The dialogue between the presenter and participants will provide insight for everyone feeling the tremendous emotional impact of the pandemic.
