Rethinking Dyspnea Management: Moving Beyond Routine Opioid Use
Free and open to all
Neuropalliative care is an emerging field at the intersection of neurology and palliative care, focused on improving quality of life for patients with serious neurologic illness. Within this field, neuroprognostication, the process of predicting neurologic recovery and outcomes, plays a vital role in guiding treatment decisions and supporting families through times of uncertainty. In this Interprofessional Grand Rounds, expert faculty will introduce key principles of neuropalliative care and the evolving science of neuroprognostication.
Presenters will illustrate how disease trajectories in neurologic conditions can inform care planning and communication. They will also explore strategies for navigating prognostic uncertainty, helping clinicians balance clinical evidence, ethical considerations, and compassionate dialogue when discussing outcomes with patients and families.
