The American Cancer Society (ACS) is the leading cancer-fighting organization with a vision of ending cancer as we know it, for everyone. ACS, and its nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate (the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, or ASC CAN) work to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.

CAPC collaborates with ACS and ACS CAN through participation in the Patient Quality of Life Coalition, which educates federal policymakers on palliative care and the needs of patients and families facing serious illness. These organizations have also worked collaboratively to advance state-level efforts that support palliative care, including legislation to establish palliative care advisory councils. CAPC partners with ACS to disseminate palliative care education resources for patients and families, including the getpalliativecare.org website. Lastly, ACS is a collaborator on CAPC content and courses, across myriad topics ranging from communication skills to caregiver support.
