New resource outlines how health systems can use Medicare’s Caregiver Training Services (CTS) codes to better support family caregivers, and more.

This week, the National Alliance for Caregiving's Cancer Caregiving Collaborative released Trends in Innovation: Implementing and Refining Caregiving Training Services in Medicare, a new guide to help health care providers receive reimbursement for training family caregivers. Developed in partnership with CAPC and other organizations in the collaborative, this brief explores the new Medicare’s CTS codes and how they apply to those involved in complex cancer care. It includes details on CTS reimbursement under the CY 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, case studies, practical tools (e.g., workflows and checklists), and key recommendations for health systems and clinicians ready to integrate caregiver training and support into care delivery.
