Study Measures Characteristics of Symptom Burden in Young Survivors of Childhood Cancer
In a JAMA Network Open study, researchers did a cross-sectional study of childhood cancer survivors, ages eight through eighteen. They found that survivors often experience a significant symptom burden even years after treatment, affecting their quality of life. Fatigue, pain, and emotional distress are prevalent, indicating the need for ongoing support and symptom management strategies tailored to this population.
