Standardized Patient Experience Measures in Pediatric Palliative Care
A study published in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management explores the Pediatric Palliative Improvement Network’s national initiative to standardize patient experience assessments across pediatric palliative care programs. Fourteen sites participated, with families consistently reporting that they felt heard and understood, and the majority indicating they would recommend pediatric palliative care services. The project demonstrated that implementing standardized patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) is both feasible and valuable for enhancing care quality, identifying opportunities for program growth, and showcasing the impact of pediatric palliative care services.
