A study published in Bone Marrow Transplantation explored pediatric transplant physicians' attitudes toward palliative care through a national survey. While most participants recognized its benefits for advanced hematologic diseases, many cited concerns about the lack of PC knowledge regarding hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) and the negative connotations associated with the term "palliative care." Key factors influencing positive attitudes included spiritual practice, years of clinical experience, and perceived quality of palliative care services. The study highlights the need for increased education and improved collaboration to overcome barriers to integrating palliative care in pediatric HCT care.
