Study shows that ranked hospitals have significantly greater access to specialty palliative care teams, compared to the nationwide prevalence rate.

In a study published in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management, Jaan Nandwani, et al. found that ranked U.S. News & World Report (USNWR) hospitals have significantly higher access to specialist palliative care teams, compared to the national prevalence rate. They also found that there is a significant association between rank position and access to outpatient palliative care. The findings of this study reflect the association of access to specialty palliative care with USNWR rankings for hospital quality.
