A study published in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management found that clinicians caring for patients with chronic critical illness overwhelmingly support palliative care involvement in LTACHS. Surveyed clinicians most often associated palliative care with comfort and support and expressed high levels of trust in palliative care clinicians, pointing to a gap between clinician readiness and access to palliative care in these settings.
