A pilot study published in Psycho-Oncology tested the feasibility and acceptability of a palliative-based intervention aimed at reducing existential distress by helping caregivers of hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients connect with sources of meaning. The intervention, Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy for Cancer Caregivers (MCP-C), was delivered by nurses over seven telehealth sessions. The findings showed high completion rates, strong participant endorsement of its value and convenience, and appreciation for the nurse’s transplant care knowledge.
